Digital Radiography

New to Royal York Animal Hospital in the fall of 2008 is Digital Radiography. Digital Radiography provides us with a much more detailed image than traditional xrays. These images are instant and can be digitally enhanced to focus on specific areas.  Because chemical processing and developing of film is no longer needed, it means that this procedure can be done quicker and more efficiently and as a result, is less stressful for your pet.

Our doctors are able to view and diagnose problems quicker.  If need be digital images can be sent to specialists electronically allowing us to report answers to you sooner.

Copies of the image(s) can be saved onto a CD for you to keep or to take with you if your pet is being referred to a specialist.

As Royal York Animal Hospital is a paperless practice we also permanently attach the digital image to your pet's medical records in our data base
